This exhibition was designed around the research conducted with social scientist Nicholas Bloom for the book Affordable Housing in New York. It brought together historical and archival material, newly created large scale architectural models and data maps, and contemporary photographs by public housing residents participating in Project Lives workshops and by David Schalliol to broadly explore the lived experience of the city’s singular housing system as inspiration for finding bold and creative solutions for tomorrow.
The exhibition was held at the Hunter College East Harlem Art Gallery through the generous support of the gallery Director Arden Sherman, along with grant funding from the Ford Foundation and NYIT.
