This research, generated as part of the Housing Density Exhibition, sought to determine if it was possible to double the population density using both the available open space and the existing zoning of NYCHA properties. As part of the study, we sought to distribute the massing of the new buildings to respond to the adjacent neighborhood building scale. The building massing was able to double the population density, and created new building typologies and forms that could contain community functions, greenhouse spaces, and recreational uses.
